The Frankenstrat guitar was a tribute project based on the original 1977 guitar designed and built by Eddie Van Halen. The guitar was a lesson in "the devil is in the details", from every stripe, scratch and cigarette burn down to the 1971 US quarter used to hide a crack in the original Frankenstrat.
